We are in fall and approaching winter and a new awareness is necessary during this season. In cold weather wind chill can be a serious danger. Depending on how cold you ride in, clear desert nights can be as severe as moutain low temps. Dress in layers. They insulate better and can be removed as needed as the temps rise. Insulated gloves are a great addition and I use them. However, if they are more than a few years old you should replace them. The insulationg material loses its "loft" and its insulating properties. Wearing chaps will help protect your lower body from wind chill as well as help protect your legs from kicked up debris. And lastly, there are the electrically heated gloves, vests, seats, and grips.
Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous. If you do not stay aware of your surroundings and options you may find yourself in a dangerous place. Confidence is required. Sometimes you experience a crisis of confidence when riding. HERE are some thoughts on dealing with it.
